The IMD Global Family Business Award, one of the most prestigious international honours for Family Businesses, was awarded for the first time to a Portuguese company. This award, promoted by IMD - a recognised international business school - annually distinguishes Family Businesses that stand out for their resilience, governance model and intergenerational vision.
The José de Mello Group is heir to a legacy that began in 1898 with CUF and has been recognised for its governance model and the role of the various generations that have ensured its continuity and innovation. The award ceremony took place in Tokyo during the Family Business Network's annual conference.
This recognition emphasises not only the group's contribution, but also the central role of Family Businesses in the global economy, highlighting the capacity of Portuguese entrepreneurial families to lead with innovation, sustainability and intergenerational commitment.
